Join Armenian Film Society on Saturday, September 7 at LOOK Cinemas in Glendale for the premiere of the restored and remastered 2006 classic comedy film, Big Story in a Small City, followed by a Q&A with director Gor Kirakosian.
About Big Story in a Small City
Big Story in a Small City is based on true events that forever changed two families in Yerevan. Grigor Janoyan, a professor of agriculture, dies in a freak accident, setting off a series of unusual events. Following Armenian tradition, his family brings the deceased into their home for a "viewing" by friends and relatives before the burial. In their grief, the family fails to notice that the body on the dining room table is not Grigor's. The body is actually that of Ruben Pashayan, one of the notorious leaders of Armenia's organized crime families. As the comical and satirical story unfolds, the inevitable trouble leads to unexpected peace, gratitude, and remembrance.
