Walk for a Cause — and a Chance at Fenway Park
“Every walker gets a chance at winning our Grand Door Prize,” says Melanne Ghahramanian, Sports Sponsor Outreach Director at the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR).
And this year, that Grand Door Prize is something special: The Ultimate Red Sox Fan Experience.
The package includes four Infield Grandstand tickets, a VIP tour of Fenway Park, the opportunity to watch pregame warmups from the Warning Track, and a personalized message displayed on the famous Fenway scoreboard.
It is all part of ABMDR’s 15th Annual Walk of Life, taking place Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Watertown. Walk-in registration begins at 10:30 AM at St. James Armenian Church on Mt. Auburn Street. Advance registration ongoing at https://www.abmdr.am/ne-walk/
The Red Sox experience is only one of several door prizes. Walkers will also have a chance to win five tickets to a 2026–27 Northeastern University Men’s Basketball home game, five tickets to a 2026–27 Northeastern University Women’s Basketball home game, along with gift certificates and other surprises.
But while the prizes add some fun and excitement to the day, the greatest reward is much more important: helping to save lives.
ABMDR works to educate and recruit potential bone marrow stem cell donors for patients suffering from leukemia and other life-threatening blood-related diseases. For a patient searching for a matching donor, one person’s decision to register as a donor can become the gift of life.
The Walk of Life brings those two sides together — a joyful community gathering with a very serious purpose. We walk, we celebrate, and we enjoy being together, while helping spread a message of hope to patients and families who need it.
